On Saturday, December 12th, The Kenny Family Foundation sponsored the Delaware Division of Family Services’ Annual Holiday Party to share our gratitude with the Department of Services for Children, Youth, and their Families (DSCYF) and all the families throughout Delaware, providing temporary support and comfort to foster children. Many children enter foster care after experiencing abuse, neglect, or dependency at home, and remain in temporary care until their previous situation at home, resolves. These years are crucial to a child’s long-term development, and situations such as abuse and neglect profoundly affect their lives. By welcoming a child from foster care into your home, sharing love, affection, and guidance, you are providing a positive environment for them to grow and greatly impact the rest of their life.

Helping Foster Children in Need

For the past 40 years, our Chairman of the Board, Bernie Kenny, and his wife, Peg Kenny, have fostered over 100 infants and children, and have welcomed four kindhearted children, with open arms, into their family. Peg Kenny shares, “I foster these children because it provides a helping hand before they can return to their families. Fostering is not a lifelong commitment, but makes a lifelong difference to a child. These babies need our support and love during this transition.”

The holiday luncheon welcomed over 350 guests, all who have participated in Delaware’s foster care services over the years. At The Kenny Family Foundation, we count our blessing everyday for all of the love and care provided to foster children in our community. From the bottom of our hearts, would like to thank every foster parent throughout Delaware and the volunteers at the Department of Services for Children, Youth, and their Families, for providing children in need with a positive environment to grow and be loved.

Thank you and Happy Holidays, from our family to yours!
