West Side Grows, a group comprised of Wilmington’s West side residents, organizations, institutions and businesses, is bringing Better Block to North Union Street once again this year. This program is an inspiration to the community in Wilmington, demonstrating that small changes, yields exponential impact.
Since their formation in 2011, West Side Grows has focused on transforming six key components of Wilmington, DE – Community Pride, Businesses and Jobs, Youth Opportunities, Great Parks, Community , Gardens, and Housing Choices. Better Block Wilmington, works to overcome the City of Wilmington’s reputation of violence, crime, and poverty by executing their belief that there is so much more to the City than meets the eye – Culture, Kindness, and Love.
